MAYOR OF THE MALL is an old-school retail term used to describe the person in a particular shopping center who knows everybody's business.

The MAYOR may be a security guard, food court worker or another store manager. Some shopping centers even have more than one.

When opening/taking over a new store, smart managers quickly seek-out the MAYOR OF THE MALL because it is important that they know who is happy at their current job and who is not; which stores are slow and which are busy; who is good at their job and who is not.

MAYORoftheMALL.com is the first, fashion-only retail job listing site. Currently, retail job listings sites accept ads from any company with a cash register. As an example, look at the front page of AllRetailJobs.com. Their featured employers include companies ranging from CVS Pharmacy and Tractor Supply to Best Buy and Blockbuster.

We think the fashion-retail job seeker is different than (for example) the counter manager at Pep Boys or a clerk at Petco and are focusing our marketing efforts on finding the best talent in fashion retail.
